My local paint store highly recommended the white cote product for coating my two old cast iron tubs and old metal sinks. I did what I thought was a nice prep on the outside of the tub (3 times over with TSP, rough sandpaper, then steel wool then dry), and one of the sinks last night and had them in a room with two heaters. Followed the instructions on mixing the ingredients and let them sit for an hour as required then applied one coat with a brush and two hours later came back to applied the second and settling drip lines were everywhere. I did not think I applied that much product at all. I tried to smooth it out and apply my next coat and it looked arguably worse. I finally ran out of product and time and I am afraid I took a moderately useable tub and sink and now they are ruined since the product is so tough once it dries. I will go back today to see the final look but I am not encouraged. Any thoughts on what I might have done wrong and how to potentially salvage it, before my wife freaks out? Thanks, Michael
